FAQs

  • IV hydration is a medical process that involves inserting a catheter into a vein, thereby allowing the administration fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the bloodstream via an intravenous (IV) line. This route allows for immediate absorption and delivery of essential nutrients, making it an effective therapy for dehydration and micronutrient supplementation. IV hydration is often used to support recovery from illness, enhance athletic performance, relieve hangover symptoms, and promote overall wellness. The infusion is typically customized to meet individual health needs, ensuring a personalized approach to hydration and nutrient replenishment.

  • An intramuscular (IM) injection is a method of delivering micronutrients directly into a muscle, typically the deltoid or gluteal muscle. This technique allows for faster absorption into the bloodstream compared to oral routes, as muscles have a rich blood supply.

  • Benefits of IV Vitamins vs. Oral Vitamins

    1. Absorption Powerhouses
When it comes to getting nutrients into your system, IV vitamins are like the VIP backstage pass to a concert, while oral vitamins are waiting in line at the ticket booth. IV administration allows vitamins and minerals to bypass the digestive system, leading to nearly 100% absorption. Oral vitamins, on the other hand, many times contain binders and fillers, and can also face hurdles like gastrointestinal issues and reduced absorption rates, sometimes dropping to 20-30%.

    2. Quick Results
Need a vitamin boost faster than you can say "abracadabra"? IV vitamins deliver nutrients directly into your bloodstream. This means you'll feel the benefits almost immediately, making it ideal for those last-minute events or post-party recovery sessions. Oral vitamins can take hours or even days to kick in.

    3. Customized Cocktail
IV therapy isn't just a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. You can tailor your vitamin infusion like a bespoke smoothie, mixing and matching nutrients based on your specific needs—energy boost, immune support, or detoxification, oh my! Oral vitamins are often limited to what's available in a bottle.

    4. Reduced Digestive Discomfort
For those with sensitive tummies that can make breaking news of a stomach ache, IV vitamins spare you the bloating and discomfort that can come with swallowing pills or dealing with powders. Sip, sip, hooray for smooth sailing!

    5. Hydration High-Five
IV vitamin therapy often comes with a side of hydration. Many IV treatments include fluids, helping you replenish lost liquids while you're getting your nutrient fix. Oral vitamins might make you want a glass of water, but it’s not exactly a hydration bonanza.

    6. Ideal for Medical Conditions
Individuals with certain medical conditions or malabsorption issues, may find IV vitamins a more effective solution than traditional oral supplements. When every nutrient counts, sometimes you need to take the express elevator.

    7. Enhanced Energy Levels
If you’re feeling like a sloth on a Sunday, IV vitamins can be a game-changer. The quick infusion of nutrients not only provides immediate benefits but can also translate to enhanced energy levels in the days to come. Oral vitamins might take longer to rev up your engines.

In summary, while both IV and oral vitamins have their place in the health spectrum, IV therapy stands out for speed, absorption, and customization. So, whether you're recovering from a long weekend, gearing up for an adventure, or just trying to keep your vitamin game strong, IV vitamins might just be your new best friend in the nutrient world!

  • Item description

IV hydration therapy can be a refreshing elixir for your body, but like all heroic quests, it may come with its own set of side effects. Here’s the scoop on what might happen when you set sail on this adventure:

    Common Side Effects

    • Injection Site Reactions: You might experience some discomfort, soreness, or bruising where the IV needle went in. It's like a tiny badge of hydration honor!

    • Headaches: Some folks might encounter headaches post-treatment. It’s often temporary—like a cloud passing in front of the sun!

    • Nausea: A wave of queasiness may crash upon some, especially if the body isn't ready for all that liquid goodness.

    Less Common Side Effects

    • Allergic Reactions: On rare occasions, individuals can have allergic reactions to the vitamins, minerals, or fluids used. This could lead to rashes, itching, or more serious symptoms. So, always be sure to disclose any allergies!

    • Fluid Overload: Too much hydration can cause the body to go into overdrive, leading to swelling and elevated blood pressure. Talk about an overzealous water party! This is why you will get cleared for services by a medical provider 1st!

    Very Rare Side Effects

    • Infections: If the IV site isn’t managed properly, there’s a slight risk of infection. Better keep those superhero hygiene practices in check!

    • Air Embolism: A rare condition that occurs if a large amount of air enters the bloodstream, which can lead to serious complications. Sit tight; ensure your provider is skilled at their craft!

    Wrapping It Up

While many people revel in the benefits of IV hydration therapy, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before embarking on this journey. Like any quest, a little knowledge can steer you clear of potential pitfalls and keep the hydration vibes strong! Stay quirky and informed!

  • Typically an infusion will take 45 min - 1 hour. Factors that can affect the duration are the size of the catheter used and your veins.

Also, if this is your first visit, you will need to allow an additional 10-15 min to complete our medical clearance process. You will fill out a medical history form and do a virtual telemedicine visit with one of our doctors, PA’s or NP’s to ensure that our services are safe for you. This process is repeated every 6 months.

  • Most pregnant and breastfeeding women can receive IV hydration but with a limited selection of micronutrients.

  • After filling out a medical history form, you will complete a virtual medical consultation wit one of our doctors, PAs or NPs. They will ensure that our services are safe for you and that you do not have any contraindications for any of our services or micronutrients.

  • Unfortunately we do not, though typically we can process HSA or FSA cards.

  • We accept cash, credit cards, HSA & FSA cards.

  • Patients must be at least 18 years of age. Minors of 16 & 17 years of age may be considered if deemed appropriate after the telemedicine visit
